Free Legal Representation Offered By Two Organizations For Gun Owner Members In Legal Hot Water.

Free legal representation is now offered by several organizations to their members who are involved in self defense shootings and other legal gun woes.

After the George Zimmerman case, legal liability for self defense shooting has become a concern for gun owners. One company, Texas Law Shield, offers legal representation for members who act in self defense in Texas. There is no cap on legal representation costs to members.

The monthly membership fee is $131.40 for concealed permit holders and $89.00 a year for those without carry permits. A couple who both have carry permits can get protection for $240.00 per year. They also offer Texas members multi-state coverage at an extra charge.

According to the company, if you have to use a firearm in self defense, the program provides legal representation including all attorney fees for both civil and criminal firearms cases. They also provide 24 hour emergency access to your attorney on an emergency hotline.

The plan covers police investigations, Grand Jury proceedings, and Criminal and Civil trials. Company attorneys are also available to answer firearms legal questions.

For $27.00 a month, The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) offers up to $500,000 civil suit and damages protection in civil firearm lawsuits, reimbursement of up to $100,000 in criminal defense for self defense charges, grants up to $10,000 to help you retain the attorney of your choice, immediate bail bond cash up to $10,000, and up to $500.00 daily lost wages compensation while in trial. These benefits are available to all members regardless of the state of residency.

They also have a 24 hour attorney hotline and refer a local attorney within 24 hours.

There are also lower priced plans priced at $12.00 and $18.00 monthly which provide less dollar amounts in protection. Other perks are available for all plans.

Both alternatives are worth looking into.
