JUST SAY "NO" TO THE UNITED NATIONS
The United Nations and their affiliated Non Governmental Organizations continually claim that their arms control treaty efforts are not directed at curtailing legal private ownership of guns. But, the United Nations has instituted 10 day Training Courses designed to help implement international “treaties” for gun control in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean. Each session is led by a UN gun control training staff member. The course’s objectives are to give police technical skills related to firearms identification, ammunition and explosives, and to train the first responders in appropriate and gradual use of force and practical disarmament measures.
Yes, you read that right. According to a nondescript United Nations website, they will use the appropriate and gradual use of force in disarming gun owners. Just exactly what is this “appropriate and gradual use of force?”
This comes from an official United Nations website. The link is shown below. They must have believed that this wouldn't be found.
They have apparently put a portion of the training to use in Jamaica. They have to start somewhere. Here's what is happening there. In a possibly related warm up exercise, 4,000 firearms were destroyed in Jamaica in early February under the auspices and close support of the UN Center For Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. (UNLIREC)
According to the Jamaica Information Service, which is the information arm of the Jamaican Government, those 4,000 firearms and a half ton of ammunition were destroyed this month by the Jamaican Government in close cooperation with United Nations personnel and with their logistical support. The guns reportedly came from the Jamaican Constabulary Forces and the Country’s Firearms Licensing Service. The Government says that they are unserviceable, obsolete, or recovered by police. However, some are civilian firearms that were left in care of the police over a long period of time. One photograph of the handguns to be destroyed shows a pile of what looks like some very workable handguns.
According to the Jamaican Government News Release, the destruction is being done under the auspices of the United Nations Weapons Destruction Assistance Package for Firearms Stockpile Management and Weapons Destruction for Caribbean States.
The UN is knee deep into firearms destruction and confiscation. At the beginning of the destruction ceremony, the Jamaican Prime Minister of Security thanked the United Nations UNLIREC for providing “technical assistance” for the country to “…fully develop action on small arms regulation and control.” The UN also helped in the country’s acquisition of equipment to destroy firearms. They have provided the country with a UN designed ammunition burning tank, hydraulic shears to cut up firearms, and padlocks to secure the firearms before their destruction.
George W. Bush fought against this kind of Treaty as he appointed freedom rights advocate John Bolton as our United Nations Ambassador. But, one of Obama's first directives as President in 2009 was to instruct Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to engage in talks with the UN about this Treaty. http://www.unlirec.org/ourwork/IITC.html
