The newest “Worst Burglar of the Year” surpassed the previous winner who broke into a newspaper office, watched porn on their computers, and left a trail of stolen M&M’s on the floor marking a trail leading to his sister’s apartment nearby and his capture.
The new winner broke into a Lake City Florida home, ate from the refrigerator, took a shower, watched TV, and was caught walking around in the house in the nude by the police after the surprised homeowner called 911. Giving the police response due credit for a fast arrival, they looked in the window and saw the home invader walking around naked inside the house.
The Burglar would not come out of the house when ordered to do so by the police. So, they went in and found him cowering on the floor of a bedroom.
Twenty five year old Shane Tinsman told the arresting officers that he was hungry and needed a place to sleep. The only thing he took was the food he ate. He will be charged with criminal mischief. He could be provided food and a place to sleep for fifteen years as a guest of the state as a result of this crime.
And, a runner up broke into an Ames, Iowa church this week and used their DVD player to view porn movies that he brought with him. He went to sleep in the church's basement after grabbing food, clothing, a TV and other electronic equipment. He is being held on burglary charges.
