"O" Doesn't Stand For Oxycodone

A not so bright burglar hit a Medford, Oregon pharmacy and took all of the prescriptions in the "O" section. Police believe that he was after Oxycodone.  But, what the fool got was all of the prescriptions that were filed under the letter "O" which was the first letter in the customer's last names in the alphabetical customer pick up section. police believe the thief is involved with other area break ins.

In Selma, Alabama, a warning shot found its target.

Leandrew McRuter went back to burglarize a home again, after setting fire to the home the first time several days earlier. He stole a television on the first try. The fire was quickly put out by volunteer firemen.

A Selma Alabama homeowner grabbed his shotgun when he heard McRuter break into his home again, and shined a flashlight into a family member's face. The home had been burglarized twice before.  At that time, the homeowner felt that his family was in danger, so he fired a "warning shot" to scare the burglar. The shotgun slug bounced off the floor and hit hapless McRuter in the leg anyway.

McRuter faces two felonies for the burglaries and one felony for the arson. He could be sent to prison up to ten years for each burglary, and up to twenty years for the arson.

And, in Spartanburg County South Carolina:

The homeowner didn't trifle with a "warning shot" when 16 year old Jamarous Rogers reached through a window he broke, and tried to unlock the home's door. Rick Clary heard the noise, grabbed his shotgun, and fired once at Jamarous, hitting him. Jamarous and another thug fled the scene, and left behind a rental car and a stolen 9mm pistol.  Jamarous will be charged as an adult with burglary and possessing a firearm during a violent crime.

And, an Oxnard, California man shot one man of the two who tried to break into his home. He heard the doorbell ring, but didn't answer it. The intruders made noises at the side of the house, and the home's occupant saw two strangers in the back yard. The thugs broke open a garage door. The break in set off a burglar alarm. The homeowner got his gun and called 911.

The home invaders charged the homeowner, and the homeowner shot to stop them.  One crook dropped, but had surgery at a local hospital. Police are looking for the second man.
