Swedish Robbery Victim Who Shot Robber To Be Charged With Attempted Murder

A Stockholm, Sweden tobacco store clerk will be charged with attempted murder because he shot one of two men who were trying to commit an armed robbery on him at his shop.  One of the Swedish armed robbers was shot in the stomach by the clerk. The other thug is still on the loose.

The armed robber threatened the clerk with a knife. The clerk drew his gun and shot when the robbers were leaving the store, but injured himself as well as the criminal with the firearm. He was treated at the same hospital as the thug he shot.

From this incident, it appears that robbers, burglars, and other armed criminals have a protected status in Sweden, as well as Great Britain.

And, at the other end of the justice spectrum, in Memphis:

Two teenaged armed robbers wished they would have stayed at home after they tried to rob a CITGO service station on Memphis Sunday. In the dead of night at 4:40a.m., the two teens, one armed with a gun, entered the gas station and told the clerk to give them money.

Instead, the clerk pulled his gun and gave them some bullets fired from his gun. He shot both of the teen hoodlums. The 16 and 17 year old ran from the store, but were captured behind some nearby apartments. They were taken to a Memphis hospital where they were treated for gunshot wounds. The 17 year old robber is in critical condition. The 16 year old had less serious wounds.

This is the second incident in two days where a Memphis employee has shot armed robbers. In the other case, it was another 17 year old thug who was shot in an attempted armed robbery.

No charges are expected to be filed against the service station clerk who fought back inTennessee.
