Jewelry Store Robbers in Two Cities Would Have Done Better With A Metal Detector At The Beach

As New Yorker, Anthony Rigoletto, entered his jewelry store in the City, he saw the front windows broken and the store’s interior ransacked. A man and woman were inside tearing the place up.
The male robber put a gun to Rigoletto’s head as he entered while the woman stuffed jewelry she found in drawers into a bag. The thief then forced the store owner to open a safe. But, he was surprised when Rigoletto pulled a licensed handgun from inside it and used it to chase the pair out of the store.
The two jumped into a waiting getaway car but a third person, acting as a lookout, was shot in the leg by Rigoletto. Prosecutors declined to prosecute the store owner for the shooting. However, he does face administrative charges because the gun was licensed in Westchester County and not New York City.

Boston Area Store Owner Shoots Would Be Robber

Raymond Simmons is accused of trying to rob The Essential Body Herbs Store in Mattapan. He was wearing what seems to be modern robbery attire, a hoodie, when he went into the store and demanded cash. He reached into the hooded sweatshirt as if he had a gun. The clerk ran to the store owner who was downstairs. Then the store owner ran upstairs and confronted the robber. He shot him multiple times. The robber will be charged with armed robbery and as a career criminal.

  1. If more thieves were killed at the scene of the crime, we would eventually run out of thieves.
